HOW TO PLAY?

EXPLANATION

Senet is the oldest known board game in world history. Its origin dates back to 5000 BC. The hieroglyphs in some special squares on the playground direct the game in relation to various beliefs. Senet is played with two players. The players have five figures each of two different colors. Moving is made with the "counting sticks" which are the premise of the game dice. A total of four counting sticks are painted in maroon on one side and white on the other. The playing field is divided into thirty squares in which the figures are played, some of which are designated as "special squares" that affect the progress of the game. Preparation Stage The playing field is numbered for explanatory reasons and also the order of numbers determines the direction of the game. The five figures each side possess are placed in the first ten squares in turns. The figures are moved according to the result from the counting sticks. By throwing the counting sticks: move 1 if 1 white face is faced, 2 if 2 white faces are faced, 3 if 3 white faces are faced, 4 if all of the white faces are faced and 5 if all of the maroon faces are faced. Starting the Game Who will start the game is determined by the counting sticks. The first player to catch 1 starts the game. Rules of the Game The player entitled to start the game re-throws the counting sticks and the game continues according to the following rules; The game is played forward. If it is not possible to play forward, a backward move is made. If the figure(s) that must be moved is in the last 3 squares (28,29,30), no backward or forward moves can be made. Any desired figure can be moved during the game. If there is even one piece for the current move, the move is made with that piece. The player whose turn is to play can pass, or move on to their position, unless the opponent piece is protected. If two or more figure is placed side by side, this provides self-protection. A protected figure cannot be replaced by opponent's move. If there are no moves available to play, the turn is passed and the turn to play is left to the opponent. The 26th square can be reached with an integer and the following squares cannot be passed without making a move. If the current move necessitates going to the 27th square with an integer, it returns to square 15. If the figure to be rotated cannot make the turn due to another figure being in protection in the 15th square, it is placed to the nearest empty square from the 15th square backwards. Figures in the 27th, 28th and 29th square can only come out when they find the exact number they require. A figure in the last square (square 30) can exit the game with any number. The figure on the 26th square can move to the last 3 squares or back if there is no forward move available. To exit the game from the 26th square, the integer 5 is needed. If the opponent figure in the square 26 is not protected, it is replaced when the player reaches the square 26. If the opponent figure in the last three squares is not protected, it can only replace the figure of the player in the 26th square. The player who first takes their pieces out of the playing area wins the game. Special Squares And Their Meanings -15. square, House of Revival; The figure falling into the Nile River returns here and comes to life. -26. square, House of Happiness; Every figure that needs to finish the game must first enter here. -27. square, the Nile; the figure coming here drowns. Player must return to square 15, the House of Revival, to re-enter the game. -28. square, House of Intent; the figure that comes here needs the integer 3 required to exit the game. -29. Square, Gemini House; the figure that comes here needs the integer 2 required to exit the game. Ancient Senet Game is a good strategy and tactical game that has improving effects on counting, analytical thinking and fair-play, as well as an educational material where luck is also a factor.
